The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) are Australia's #1 ranked young university. They had been using a very outdated website and platform for too long and required an overhaul and transition. The old website had a complicated and unintuitive navigation structure, leaving users frustrated. In the redesign, the focus shifted to making the site much more user-friendly, often with simplified, organised menus and easy-to-find resources. With improved UX, users can more quickly locate online courses, unit information and technical services. Clearer navigation, intuitive search functions, and a clean, consistent layout made a huge difference in reducing confusion and improving usability as a whole.
An intuitive design system
Here is a preview of part of the design system and framework that I crerated which was utilised in the prototyping of the UTS website. High attention to detail and thorough user consideration based on user testing and feedback was incorporated into the design of every component for mobile and desktop. In this preview we can see elements such as button styles, menus, drop down menus, swatches, blog article blocks and so on.
